This month I'm back to looking for good chaser-related photos that I haven't posted yet. I like this one, showing an officer and two children dressed in Navy outfits, but I'm not sure I have it identified correctly.

This brings up a related topic: Captions!
I think this might be a photo of Lt. (j.g.) George Leovy, CO of subchaser SC 95. There's a photo showing him here, but this little photo doesn't have anything but a "6" written on the back.
Lots of the shots in the subchaser collections have numbers scrawled on the back, probably representing the roll number or something like that. Sometimes even that is useful: Maybe other prints that appear to be from the same batch in terms of size, border, etc., will have that mark, suggesting they really are from the same set, and maybe from other prints I can figure out the date and location, and confirm or deny my guess as to who's in the picture.
In my family collections there are various very old photos with captions like, "My mother," which might have been useful a generation or two ago, but now I've got to figure out, whose mother?
So for all of you interested in military history or family history, a plea: Write good captions. You might save your great-grandchildren a lot of time.

Note: Howard Serlick pointed out that this is a Machinist, so it could be the man in the center in the other photo, but not Leovy. (Or someone else entirely.)
