Between spring rains, I'm spending a little more time outside, lately, planning the garden and getting ready for warmer weather -- and getting further behind in posting materials.
There is one photo set recently posted, however, that I wanted to mention, showing crew photos from a chaser. I can't place the story, but it sounds familiar, so I thought someone else might remember it from an article or a sailor's account:
The photo set, here: http://subchaser.org/paul-r-mueller -- shows photos of Paul Robert Mueller, a chaser crewman, and other crewmen. The story is that while a crate was being loaded into a sling, the crate fell, injuring Mueller. He was medically discharged on 23 October, 1918. Does anyone remember reading an account of this incident?
As always, more materials to come ... but for now, enjoy the spring!
