Submarine chaser SC 434 was one of the boats that wasn't commissioned until after the Armistice. This boat was delivered to the NY Navy yard on 11 January, 1919, and commissioned on the 14th. The Ship Movements book shows SC 434 stationed at New York until it was decommissioned in New Jersey and sold on 1920-04-22.
These photos are from a scrapbook of Leon Thomas, who served as a radio operator on SC 434. Some of the photos in the scrapbook show chasers in the locks in Waterford, NY, I believe on a trip from New York to Oswego on 1919-05-03. Possibly these crew photos are from that same trip. Note that they don't have the radio antenna or the mast up.
Thanks to John Thomas, son of crewman Leon Thomas, for submitting the photo scans to The Subchaser Archives.
