Genealogy Pages --Bond and Sturges: Ancestor photos from the collection of T. Woofenden, Bowdoinham, Maine.
These photos only tangentially pertain to this site. George S. Dole, subchaser commander, was the identical twin of Louis A. Dole. Louis married Anita Sturges; they purchased the Bond property on Catawba Island, Ohio. An inquiry on that sale prompted a bit of photo scanning from the family albums.
Left to right: Alice C. Sturges, Amanda S. Bond, Margaret ("Midge") Sturges, Amelia ("Millie") Sturges Cooper, Stella V. Sturges (front row, left), Ella R. Sturges Millard.
Alice C. Sturges, shown here as a young girl, lived at Catawba with "Addie," whom I am guessing is Amanda S. Bond, next to her.
Dr. John W. Bond
Dr. John W. Bond married Amanda Bond in 1854. Their daughter (Amanda S. Bond, pictured above) is mentioned in a deed selling the Catawba property to Anita Sturges Dole and Louis A. Dole.
Left to right: Fred Sturges, Amanda (Sturges) Bond, James D. Sturges. Amanda, center, is the wife of Dr. John W. Bond, pictured above. James D. Sturges, right, is the father of Alice C. Sturges, pictured in the first photo, and the father of Anita Sturges Dole. Anita S. Dole and Louis A. Dole purchased the Catawba property from Amanda S. Bond.
Louis A. Dole and Anita S. Dole
This is a photo of Rev. Louis A. Dole and Anita S. Dole at their home, 887 Middle Street, Bath, Maine, probably from sometime in the 1960s.
