SC 254: Freeman Collection

Edmund F. Freeman, QM 1c, served on submarine chaser SC 254.

SC 254 was initially assigned to Base 27, Plymouth, England, then served from Base 6, Queenstown, Ireland; and post-war was assigned to the North Sea Minesweeping Division.

This set of photographs shows scenes from Freeman's service on the chaser, including excellent shots of a machine gun on the bridge wing and the rather odd Davis non-recoil gun mounted on the deck.
