Vol. 14 No. 6, June 2018

As a follow-up to my article for the Centennial Commission, I had a short spot recently in their podcast. My clip is in the May 18 episode. This is just one of many episodes, so take a look at other editions as well. There are a lot of excellent stories.

I continue to have a growing stack of things to post. This isn't such a bad problem to have, since it means people continue to submit content for The Subchaser Archives. But sometimes I do get behind. Even so, there are some interesting new posts.

Recently added:

Added to the Hull Numbers Collection: SC 78. I'm not sure why I didn't already have a shot of this chaser in the collection. It's one of the boats that served in the Otranto Barrage. If you have read any of the stories about submarine chasers in WWI by yachtsman/writer Alfred Loomis, you might be interested to know that this is the chaser he served on.

Added to the SC 345 page is a second shot of this chaser, submitted by Robert Held. His father, John F. Held, served on SC 344.

Added to the Crew Photos collection, also courtesy of Robert Held, is a set of photos from his father's service on SC 344.

And finally, also from Robert Held, is a shot of  343 taking on gas mid-ocean from USS Arathusa.
