Vol. 13 No. 12, December 2017

Power lines are mostly repaired, and the power has been on most of the time since the big storm last month, so I'm starting to get caught up.

Posted this month:

William Leggott submitted several post-war photos of submarine chaser SC 238, which was sold and renamed Harry H. One photo shows the chaser having sunk and being raised using coal cranes.

Bob Duffy submitted a number of scans of photos obtained in an antiques shop in Long Island back in the 1970s.

Robert Allison sent a link to a white paper, "The Naval Forces of the Irish State, 1922 - 1977," by Padhraic Ó Confhaola. Pages 28 and 29 include some information about post-war sales of U.S. chasers. The text indicates that these were 110-foot submarine chasers, but it seems as if the author is actually referring to the smaller ML boats.
