Photographs from the G.S. Dole Collection

In 1919, three U.S. submarine chasers took part in a naval expedition to northern Russia, to assist during the withdrawal of U.S. troops from the region of Archangel, Russia.

These photos of U.S. forces in Russia are from the collection of Lt. George S. Dole, commanding officer of SC 354 and unit leader of the chasers.

Photographs of the U.S. Navy vessels in the Northern Russia Expedition are here.
