Submarine Chaser SC 227 was built at New York Yacht, Launch & Engine Co., and was commissioned on 24 December, 1917 at New York. This chaser was assigned to Base 25 (Corfu), and service in ASW operations on the Otranto Barrage. This is one of the chasers that participated in the bombardment of Durazzo harbor on 2 October, 1918.
