Posted this month are several images of scenes on subchaser SC 327 -- which is an interesting chaser, for a few reasons: First, it is among those that served on the Otranto Barrage, based at Corfu, Greece. It is also one of the eleven chasers that participated in the Durazzo bombardment, which would be recorded as perhaps the most notable engagement involving submarine chasers in the war.
And thirdly, those of you who have read the Standard Motor Construction Company book, Cinderellas of the Fleet, may recognize the CO, Ens. Walter P. Grozman, as the author of the chapter on the Otranto Barrage.
Enjoy the spring!
